Climate science · humanitarian action · explainable AI

Turning climate and environmental data into tools people can act on.

I am a climate scientist (PhD) working at the intersection of climate risk, humanitarian response, and AI for good. I build open, explainable platforms that put forecasts and evidence in the hands of humanitarian field teams, ocean defenders, and communities on the front line of climate change.

ENSOscope

Founder and operator

A live El Niño (ENSO) forecasting and impacts platform for humanitarian anticipatory action. Monthly multi-model forecasts, hindcast skill, and observed impacts (rainfall, drought, heat stress), explained in plain language so field teams in climate-sensitive regions can decide ahead of the shock.

SeaVigil

Founder and builder

Explainable illegal-fishing detection. An open, auditable layer over satellite vessel-tracking (AIS), radar, and optical imagery that flags apparent fishing in marine protected areas, dark vessels, AIS spoofing, and at-sea transshipment. Every flag carries a reason and its supporting evidence, so researchers, policymakers, and ocean conservation groups can trust it and act on it.

About

I trained as a climate scientist: a PhD at the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement (LSCE, Université Paris-Saclay) on tropical climate variability under climate change, with El Niño as my main case study.

Today I put that research to work where decisions are made. I design and operate live platforms that translate satellite observations, climate models, and historical data into clear, actionable guidance for humanitarian teams, ocean defenders, and communities facing climate risk.

The thread running through all of it: complex climate and environmental data, made open, explainable, and actionable, in the service of climate adaptation, social justice, and accountability.
